Terms of Service

Effective August 9, 2026

MyDear is a service of SelfOrbit LLC, a Texas limited liability company. These terms govern your use of MyDear. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use MyDear.

The service

MyDear provides guided conversation, transcription, writing assistance, editing, book organization, preview, narration, and related tools for personal life-story projects. Features may change as we improve the service. Beta and pre-release features may be incomplete, change without notice, or occasionally be unavailable.

Your account

You must provide accurate account information, keep access to your email secure, and promptly tell us if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity performed through your account. MyDear is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13.

Your stories and ownership

You retain ownership of the text, audio, images, and other material you provide, and of your rights in the final writing you approve. You give MyDear a limited license to host, copy, process, transform, and transmit that material only as needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the service according to the Privacy Policy and your analytics choices.

You confirm that you have the rights needed to provide the material and that your use will not violate another person's privacy, intellectual property, or other legal rights.

AI assistance and author control

AI-generated transcripts, questions, passages, facts, and narration can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable. They are suggestions, not professional advice or verified historical records. Review all output before relying on it. Nothing enters your book until you choose Keep, and you remain responsible for the content you publish or share.

Acceptable use

Do not misuse MyDear, attempt to bypass access or usage controls, disrupt the service, upload malware, scrape or reverse engineer protected systems, impersonate another person, infringe rights, or use the service for unlawful, abusive, deceptive, or harmful activity. We may limit or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect people, the service, or legal compliance.

Paid services

MyDear may offer paid digital subscriptions on the website and in the iOS app. Purchases made in the iOS app use Apple's in-app purchase system. Website purchases use the payment provider identified at checkout. The price, billing period, renewal, cancellation, refund, and feature terms shown at checkout by MyDear and the applicable payment provider also apply. You can manage or cancel an iOS subscription through your Apple account and restore an eligible purchase from MyDear Settings.

Your licence to use the MyDear iOS app itself is Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms govern the MyDear service; that agreement governs the app licence.

If your account sponsors a renewable service for someone else, deleting your account cancels renewals billed to you. The recipient keeps any content they authored, but access funded by that sponsorship may end unless another payment arrangement is made.

MyDear makes a printable PDF of the chapters you keep. It does not print or post a physical book to you, and no plan includes a hardcover.

Privacy and deletion

Our Privacy Policy explains how information is processed. You may delete individual books and can start deletion of your account from the iOS app or website. Account deletion disables access immediately and schedules remaining account data for deletion, subject to limited legal and operational retention described in the Privacy Policy.

Service availability and termination

We work to keep MyDear dependable but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. You should keep an export of writing that is important to you. You may stop using MyDear at any time. We may suspend or end access for a material violation of these terms, a security risk, nonpayment for a paid service, or when required by law. Where practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to export content.

Disclaimers and limits

To the extent permitted by law, MyDear is provided as available without warranties that are not expressly stated in these terms. MyDear is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or opportunities. Nothing in these terms limits rights or remedies that cannot legally be limited, including applicable consumer protections.

Changes and applicable law

We may update these terms as the service changes. We will post a new effective date and provide additional notice when required. Your continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and without overriding mandatory consumer rights where you live.
